Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
A Certified nursing assistant (CNA) assists patients with healthcare needs and cares for a patient who is ill or recovering from a surgery or disease. A CNA’s duties are usually assigned by a registered Nurse (RN).
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
A Licensed Practical Nurse works as an assistant to physicians and registered nurses (RNs), taking care of basic duties in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. They play a critical role in providing patients with the quality care they need.
Registered Nurse (RN)
A registered nurse administers hands-on patient care in a variety of settings including hospitals, medical offices, nursing homes, and other facilities. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and has then taken a test that is required to earn RN certification.
Direct Support Professional (DSP)
A Direct Support Professional is a highly-skilled, supportive and compassionate individual who has extensive experience caring for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A DSP is responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities with their daily living activities, administering medications according to guidelines, assisting with implementing treatments, training programs, and developmental/behavioral plans as well as encouraging community participation.
